When you stare into the void, the void stares back.
This is a paraphrase from Friedrich Nietzsche’s work Beyond Good and Evil (1886), where he warns, “He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you”.
While his meaning was a warning not to become the very thing you are fighting, my meaning is beyond any fight.
Many who, like me, have crossed the line between what we call life and death. Some of those stories are about infinite black nothingness, often called “the void”.
What if?
What if this void is your personal canvas? A blank canvas, waiting to be filled with …
What if you spoke to this void and said “Let there be light”?
